Cancer On My Mind
By John Stiles
I've put this web site together for those seeking information on cancer. Cancer touches nearly all our lives, cancer has affected many generations in my family. There were many articles and links to help you find the answers you're looking for.
This site is dedicated to my loving wife Monica, who was told she had cancer. It pays to have the experts have a look. She was being scheduled for exploratory surgery, but chose to be referred to the Cleveland Clinic where they determined she didn't have cancer after all.
Brief list of other people in my life affected by cancer:
-
Juanita B. - died of cancer.
-
Ethel W. - died of cancer.
-
Janet S. - survived cancer.
-
Colleen C. - survived cancer.
-
Linda M. - Paul's Wife, died of cancer.
-
George H. - Musician, died of cancer.
-
Isabel B . - died of cancer.
The basic reason for starting cancerinfosite.com is partially as stated above. This is just one of many reasons why cancer information is the sites purpose.
Occasionally I’ll just use the site to vent my anger toward cancer and what cancer does to people and their families. Cancer rips those who get it apart, then takes them away if not caught early. For all the scientific advances in cancer treatment, it’s still killing people!
The traumatic experiences we go through, forever mark the time in our minds. Back in 1971, my grandmother was taken by cancer. While I was fairly young at the time, cancer has etched the year 1971 as a scar on my brain. Here it is many years later and it seems like yesterday that my grandmother was diagnosed and then slowly died from cancer a few months later.
As time moves forward, when a cure for cancer is found. Then we can all have “that” year etched in all our minds. As you visit the site looking for answers, know that you are not alone. One of my goals with this site is to have it be a growing tribute to all the brave souls who did battle against cancer whether they won or lost. As John Lennon wrote in a song “We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun”.

Good luck on your journey...
